    Thanks for this info!
I have one question related to it. Can we purchase the tickets in the bus or we need to buy the tickets at the airport somewhere?
    BR,
    Laura

      Dear Laura:
You can find ticket window at the arriving hall of the airport terminal and you should purchase ticket there.

  3. Beryl says:

May I know the alighting point at Suzhou?

    • admin says:

      Hello,
Airport bus terminates at Ticket Office of China Eastern Airline located at Ximei Lane on Ganjiang West Road in Canglang District.

  5. Wanglong says:

Does the bus go to Suzhou North bus station?

    • Matt says:

Bus does not go to Suzhou North, but in the central part of Suzhou. See above for location of bus arrival/departure in Suzhou:
Airport bus terminates at Ticket Office of China Eastern Airline located at Ximei Lane on Ganjiang West Road.

  6. Marion says:

The last bus for Suzhou is at 8pm? What about if our plane arrive at 10pm?

    • Matt says:

You might still catch a train from Shanghai main station or Shanghai Hongqiao (last ones leave around midnight), but not very likely. Best bet is to find a place in Shanghai and stay the night or hire a private taxi/van to Suzhou if you must make it that night.

  7. Matt says:

    **Warning**

Information about the trains from this site is not entirely accurate. I travel frequently (2-3 times a week) between Shanghai and Suzhou. Train tickets are normally between 30-50 RMB one way depending on the train type.

Also, it is a misnomer that “High speed trains depart from Shanghai for Suzhou every 10 minutes from 6:00am to 10:00pm Monday to Sunday.” The trains actually leave much less frequently.

The Suzhou train schedule has several locations including “Suzhou Annui” (an entirely different city) and “Suzhou Yuanqu” and “Suzhou North” (a fair distance from Suzhou center and only accessible via taxi). Most people will want to arrive to the main Suzhou station (titled as plain “Suzhou”).

  8. Intern-Ship-Captain says:

    Hello,

I would like to know where the long-distance coach from Pudong stops in Suzhou Industrial Park (SIP). Suzhou Ganjiang Xi Lu is still pretty far from where I want to go, Baidu Maps says I need to take 3 underground/bus lines to get to my destination: http://j.map.baidu.com/18e-h

Is there any option for getting of somewhere in the SIP? I find it pretty confusing that all that the Shanghai Aiport website doesn’t even give you a clue where exactly the bus will stop in Suzhou, after all it’s a large city.

    Thanks in advance.

As someone who has taken the bus quite often, I can give a bit more detailed information concerning Suzhou. The departure place is still on Ganjiang Lu but be aware. The front part of the building is now a hotel and you need to go to the rear of the building to buy bus tickets.

If you are going from PuDong to Suzhou, the bus will stop twice in SIP area (the east part of the city). It will literally stop by the side of a road and passengers disembark from there. Then, half the passengers are all looking for a taxi at the same time and often it seems they have all dried up at this time!

I wish I could tell you the exact location of each of the two stops, but it seems all so random and doesn’t stay the same from each time I have done this.

If you want to take the subway from PuDong to the HongXiao train station (one stop beyond the airport), you could do so but it’s a bit daunting if you have a lot of luggage. If only a little luggage though, then this is the way I’d recommend. Then you can get a taxi at the Suzhou train station to get to your final destination. Be warned: The Shanghai #2 line will stop at some point and everyone has to change trains. Did you have a nice, comfy seat and were expecting to sit all the way through? Well, good luck with that.

Another possibility is to take the bus from PuDong to HongXiao, then one subway stop to the HongXiao train station and take the train into Suzhou.
